How many miles do BMW's life for before you start having car problems? I am lookin at buying a 1992 BMW 325iS with a body kit added that has 130K miles on it for 4500, is that a good deal? And more specifically what problems may i have in the future with the mileage, around when does the car begin to have problems? Toyota's go for 200K-250K miles so 130K isnt a prob on a toyota but what about beamers? Leave a site link if you know of one that I may look at so i can educate myself on my questions.

My dad has 4 bmws n theve gone round the clock [[1 has]] No it can do well over 200k if u keep it well gd!Barneyy!
Better dont by it bloody my friend had to trash a 1992 bmw just because of elertric faliure and to fix that problem is not any ones jobs seems like only the manufacturer can fix it
of course not....BMW? I have a 94' 740il with 160,000 miles, and it runs strong. Oil is always clean when I change it. HAPPY RIDING. Oh, if you don't know, try Bavarian Motor Sports web site for aftermarket goodies. $4500 however, too steep!!
It's about a thousand of five hundred too much, unless the engine is exceptionally tight. Timing belt and water pump should be changed every 60,000, so if it hasn't been done recently, you're looking at either 8 hours under the hood or a $700 garage bill. But as far as the car itself goes, that kind of mileage is no problem. Of course, the body kit points to somebody beating the tar out of it on city streets. I'd give it a pass and buy another one.
You dont break an IS. The 2.7 IS is legend for reliability and performance. I know a gent who owns a 92 IS with 160000miles on it and he drives the car like the devil himself, and not problems yet. I am not sure about the price because I live in South Africa so I have no idea what these things go for over there. I can tell you that I have had 3 BMWs and they are brilliant cars. I also had 3 Toyota's before the BMWs and I am prepared to say that I had more problems with Toyota than with a BMW, but nothing majour with the Toyota;s though, only small things which were anoying.
Try to get a better understanding from the owner as to what has been done to the car in the way of maintenance this car has only been driven about 9k a yr which is very low was it driven or was it stored how many owners try CARFAX for the history of the car very informative and help full www.kbb.com will help with the pricing My 1987 had 190k on it when the a/c went out but the car ran like top you shouldn't be to concerned with the miles if the car has been well taken car of..do they have recites that would be nice to see... you could ask who was servicing the car and ask the mechanics option remember one thing any car no matter what it is will have problems of some sort good luck
It's a loaded question, but for a car that's 15 years old and 130k on it, it's considered low mileage. BUt this doesn't mean it won't break down on you.
