7 series (atleast those years) are horrible maintanence nightmares. And I'm not talking about most little frivious bmw problems, I'm talking transmission,engine and electrical problems. Those trannys are notoriously bad and will cost near the amount you paid for the car to fix . Why do you think a car that retailed for 65,000 in 98 is selling for 10k ? Although that is a pretty good price, but just be careful and have it inspected . They are nice riding highway cruisers and may even surprise some people how fast they are above 50mph . good luck

you might want to check a couple other internet and not only car fax,but it sounds like a ok deal to me!
did you price it out with kkb.com and or nada.com they will give a green light or red light.Good Luck.
Carfax data, mileage and year of car are important factors.

But condition of car as you see it and feel it during a roadtest,

is also important. And most important of all, have a BMW mechanic check it out so that you do not get a bomb and surprises after the deal is done.
