Not rotate tires on 2003 BMW 325xi?

I haven't rotated my tires in about 8-10,000 miles and would like to do so, but I've been reading online that BMW says you shouldn't rotate your tires? Is this true? I'm not on run-flats, just general Goodyear Eagle RSA models.

BMW does have a rational reason for this recommendation. Fronts and rears wear differently on BMWs. Their rationale is that you will have reduced traction and handling by rotating the tires, as the tire to road contact angle/surface will be very different after rotating.

You'll have to decide how big of a risk this is based on your driving style and typical road conditions. Personally, I think that if you rotate every 7500 miles it is OK. If you rotate only after 15000 - 20000 miles, it will be noticeable.

You can expect 20,000 - 30,000 miles on your Eagle RSA tires, again depends on driving style. You will not get 40K - 50K miles out of them.

Wow some people saying to rotate only every 10 or 25k ?? Must have tires made of steel and hence get crappy traction. I rotate mine ever 5k to 6k.

Certainly depends on one's driving style (I drive it likes it's stolen all day every day, cuz that's what a BMW was made to do) but NOT rotating tires??? It means your going to be replacing tires more often then the rest of us.
