Are subs available for 2000 bmw 323i?

i tried to put in subs in my 2000 bmw 323i but the installation guy said tht i need to change factory stereo to aftermarket because theres some sensor in factory stereo and has tht flashing red light and if stereo is taken out it does something to car so i would like to put subs in but w/o changing factory stereo

go to your local best buy and say this exact statement, " i need a line out line in converter to be hooked up to my stock radio deck with the rca cables being run out the passenger side so i can hookup a amp and subs to" they will be like sure this is what you need and they will hand you a 20$ piece of hardware that convert the signal from the stereo to a signal that is readable to the amp so it can output the power. or you can just give bestbuy or your local car tunes or mickey shores or w.e car audio specialists are in your area and tell them that and they can hook it all up for you for a cheap price if you already have the subs and amps.
wow dude just buy a 50 dollar radio at frys, if you care so much about spending the dough for subwoofer/amp/enclosure and want good sound or even the loud bass then buying a new radio shouldve been the first step.
ok what the guy told you is right kind of your stereo has a anti theft system so if its disconnected you need the code to turn it back on otherwise it wont turn back on so what you need is to tap into the rear speaker wires using a LOC (line output converter) to convert the speaker signal to RCA. you dont even need to touch the stereo just connect the unit to the rear speakers, the amp is installe normal and the remote you connect it to the unit and your all set as for subs you can put 1 or 2 what ever you want subs arent made specifically for a certain car so good luck
