This is not possible as a direct plug in, because of the new ipod technology. But you can transmit through a cassette adapter (although you probably don't have a cassete deck) or you can us an FM modulator, available at 90% of electronics stores, including walmart. Don't be surprised though, when the quality from the modulator is horrible. SOME factory stereos after '99 actually do have an RCA input in the back, but this is very rare. If you find that you do have one, an 1/8" stereo plug to RCA adapter would do the trick. I recomend getting an aftermarket stereo from Pioneer or Sony though. They're not that much. There are many units that will accomplish this task. Not much to it, most will plug into the cigarette lighter and transmit an FM radio frequency to your stereo. Circut city has one called a roadtrip that couldn't be easier to use. The sound quality is not going to be good with any of these units though. If you like sound quality ditch your factory deck and get a pioneer with an ipod adapter.

I know from 03-04 the headlights got the angel eyes and the tailights were revamped, but I didn't see any noticeable difference between 2002 and 2003. We bought a screen that connects across the back of the 2 seats and i find it really helps with the wind. And if you cant get one, just wear your hair up. I am looking for a mechanic in the Seattle area who can replace my BMW 325 brakes - rotors, pads, sensor. I have the parts - just need the job done.

There are several who say they can do the job and rates range from $25/hr - $95/hr! Thats a wide range.

Is the brake replacement job on a BMW very special? or can any mechanic who does brakes for other cars also do it for the BMW?

I have a 2005 Nissan 350Z and love it! I'd AVOID the BMW like the bubonic plague, you'll have repair costs that will bring a man to tears.

I never owned a BMW, but I've heard PLENTY of horror stories...

My ONLY concern is that the 2003 is a "first year 350Z" and it did have it's share of minor problems (ALL First year cars have some issues usually)...i.e. tire feathering (premature tire wear, caused by factory wheel alignment issues)....If you can ante up a little extra for an '04 Z, I'd suggest THAT instead...IF not , go for the '03 Z.

Get the 03 Nissan it's a way better car then the BMW.First off it brings Nissan 3.5v6 engine which is one of the top ten engines in the world for like 13 or 14 years in a row now.There is also alot more aftermarket parts available for it and if you have to do any repairs it will be way cheaper then a BMW.My brother had a 3 series and got rid of it after they told him how expensive it was to just change the spark plugs and wires on it I think it was almost a grand.So get the 350z its the better choice and oh yeah the ladies like it too.hope this helps

Both great cars, cost of ownership and maintaince on the nissan will be much less, also insurance. If you want i guess it depends on wanting a pure sports care (350Z) or a sporty-luxury car. Girls love bimmers though trust me.
I would go with the nissan for many reasons, i used to own a bmw 323i back in 2001 and the car was great untill i started having mechanical problems with it then it started hurting my pockets pretty badly. The nissan 350z with 89k miles will last you a very long time with little or no mechanical problems, Ive owned mine since 2003 and i love my car its the best car ive owned and it still turns lots of heads not to mention the great acceleration and thousands of after market mods at cheap prices. I got it taken care of at a transmission place for around $800. If your flywheel is too worn out to be resurfaced, that'd be another couple hundred dollars. BMW parts are even more expensive - I bet you're looking at least $1000 in repairs.

Not sure what parts cost but call NAPA and they will tell you actual cost also a clutch is about 4-5 hours labor I would guess labor at 90 a hour maybe less.
Well you can get a clutch aftermarket at a local parts store now days. As far as labor goes figure about $500 to 800 at a respectable shop.

I would use CarFax to run a check on it - and if the results look OK, maybe $3000. Does it need tires? When were oxygen sensors last installed? Were the fluids changed? How about the brake pads? How about the brake rotors? It is a nice car with such low miles. The only major problem I can think of is the catalytic converter. At 43,000 miles the engine and trans should be OK for a long time.
Not a 7 series unless you are a good mechanic, plus the parts are hard to come by and expensive for the older ones. Never buy a euro car without service records.

Oldies always has a value.If a person cleans and maintains an old car like new...that is really commendable that also shows in interest and love towards to dream machine.Every model has its own charm in BMW.YOU CAN VERY WELL SHOW OFF.
It is a subjective questions, some like new model, some prefer the old model's looks..... so it all depends on you. Its like buying clothing, some may say it suits you but some may say you look old wearing it ..... there is no end to it.

as a techs point of veiw, the 318 was a huge failure, between the engine issues and everything else, they really dont show the true nature of bmw as they once were, where the cars were reliable at one point. the 316 and 318 were brought over as a started model to get people to buy other models.

Well you've created some accuracy questions here. the Nissan 300zx is very different then the 350z in terms of performance. An M3 existed during both Nissan eras so not clear on what you're asking...

Regardless though the M3 will SPANK the Nissan no matter which years. The M3 is only challenge by very few cars like Vette's, Viper's.
deffinately the m3, not a doubt. It has more class, it is faster, it handles better, it looks better, and it has a back seat.
BMW M3. personal preference. I find them to be made of better quality materials than japanese cars. I don't however like all of the electronic crap that the germans stick in their cars. BMW did get another best engine of the year award for like the sixth consecutive time though.

The red button underneath the main rear-view mirror has nothing to do with anything, it's part of the alarm system, basically a deterrent. And the rear view in these cars is electrochromatic which basically means it does it by it's damn self. If you need to adjust your mirror then you simply have to move it. Any other issues consult your car manual or go to a BMW dealer

If the veh did not come with the auto dim feature you need to go to parts and get the mirror that does and have installed by bmw service department. If you are not sure if it has it or not here are some tips. look at the center top of the mirron if it has a whole that look out of place that is the sensor and if you are driving at night and things look green in it that is the tint. So if you see the whole and don't see green its broken. No hole means you don't have it.

the red button under it is just for the alarm. It will flash when you lock the veh also you can twist it is you don't have the auto dim feature to tilt the mirror so you don't get blinded by the vehs behind you.
well i would suggest going to the dealer with the auto tinting for your rear view mirror function, and the red thing under the mirror is just a false alarm system. It is the same in that model if you have an actual alarm system (but the car will beep when you lock it) if you dont have an alarm, then it's just a fake alarm and will most likely deter car thieves. Oh yeah make sure to tell your insurance that it is a actual alarm so you will get rebates

Most people who buy Mercedes and BMW's have the means and are willing to pay a premium for a brand new car. The key stat that you included was the relatively high mileage (80K). This is pretty high for cars of this caliber and turns off a lot of buyers for these premium cars.

Also, you are referring to cars that are now close to 7 or 8 years old. I bet if you were to look at BMW's or Mercedes that are only a few years old, the resale value would be much higher.

I drove these cars many times because I worked in the car sales business.

Go back to the dealership for another repair, it is still under warranty if it was replaced under warranty and the problem came back then you likely got a defective part and it should be covered under the factory warranty, if you are told no way then you should consider calling a Lemon Law attorney, Krohn and Moss is the best in the business you can find them on the Internet under Lemon Law. I believe that your main relay or the ecu could also be the culprit.

This time when u go to dealers,pls bring your warranty booklet,even the warranty is expired.

Highlight to them the repairs done and ask them to get to the root of the problem. just changing a coil will not help.

It could have beeen the main relay was defective,or the ECU when u had your coils changed b4.

Is possible to believe that there is some electrical fault/defect in the car wiring.

The bosch coils lasts for many years.(not two to three years)

In the event if they refuse to foot the bill,then u have to send them a notice thru lawyers citing lemon law.

Be firm with them dealers and get them attend to your problems at cost to you.

I'm doing up a BMW gs100 (E Reg - 1988) for a mate but I can't get it started! It has been sat for quite a long time out doors. I have put fresh fuel in, changed the spark plugs, and checked the float bowls. The carbs and jets appear clean! When i turn it over it kind of coughs... It just woun't run! It sounds like the starter is fine too!

The battery might be dead. You should try jumper cables. jump it from a car that is off, I've heard you might damage the selenoid if the car is running.

So are you talking about the 168HP 323, which does have a 2.5L engine, or the 190HP 328? Coupe or sedan, auto or stick? The Acura has 128 ft-lbs of torque, vs the BMWs close to 200, more or less depending on what engine. The Acura is about 500 lbs less. My bet would be the BMW off the line, and probably in the 1/4 mile too. FWD will kill this race. The harder you accelerate, the less traction you'll have. The harder he does, the more he'll have. I've driven some 325s, and they are pretty quick for what they have under the hood. They make good use of torque.

You might win in a situation where you would be redlined more, like a 50-70 pull. Then the VTEC would be working for you, but the double VANOS is working for him too, starting at lower RPMs. It's not always about peak power, but how long it puts down usable power. In my M3, I can feel a bump from the double VANOS as low as 1800.

It really is up to your preference of the two. Make sure you take your mechanic friend to test drive both of the to make sure they are in good shape. They are both pretty reliable vehicles that get similar gas mileage, depending on how you drive them. Again maitenence should be around the same cost on oil changes and other basic maitenence, but its just a gamble on weather they will break down. Also depending on where you are buying them from, consider the warranties available with them. Spend a little extra money for an extended warranty, b/c it could save you ALOT in the long run.

Hi I have a 1997 BMW 328 covertible I was checking my engine fault and came across two faults. 1 was "secondary air system fow too low Cyl #4-6". 2nd was EVAP large leak detected.For the guys and gals that work on their car would a o2 sensor cause these faults? and is it easy to fix the two faults meantoned by a novice?

I doubt that there is already a secondary air pump (system) in your car. So your fault for the secondary air to me is "suspect". Tell us what scanner you used and the actual fault codes you got. Better still, tell us the last 7 of your car's VIN. I never recommend replacing anything without a proper diagnosis. If your 02 sensor is bad, you would get a fault for the 02 sensor itself so replace it at your own risk.

Evap large leak can mean so many things. Leaks in any of the following can cause such a fault--- tank cap, filler tube, hoses, charcoal canister, expansion tank, fuel tank, vent valve, pipes and hoses of the evap system all the way to the intake manifold. Most of the time, the fault is due to the gas cap not properly secured/tightened. Just re-set your gas cap and clear the fault. The evap system has no relation whatsoever with the 02 sensors.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS....

You did not mention specifically what particular Bavarian Autosport code reader you used. But anyways, it is obviously not an OBD2 code reader, for the fault codes you mention are not OBD codes. I would suggest that you have your car scanned at Autozone or Pepboys with a regular scanner.

The BMW 318ti has a low market value because it did not sell well. It's truncated hatchback design was not too pleasing to the eye, and it was too expensive for the lack of power. Granted it was rear wheel drive and handled ok. But it was too expensive for what you paid.

The market value for the corolla is higher because it can be sold easily. It is a more reliable and practical car.

Most people and dealers would not trade out like that. It is possible if the dealer or person realizes that they could probably sell the Corolla for more money (bigger market).

The 2001 Corolla weighs about the same or less than the 97 BMWti. It has almost the same h.p. giving up only 13 h.p. to the Bimmer. And it gets better gas milage than the Bimmer.

I just completed a lease assumption process on a BMW and they required full coverage (100/300) for my car insurance. Problem is, I have a few tickets on my record and also for some reason I require an SR22, so for full coverage insurance I am paying quite a lot.

I would like to switch to liability only and just take the chance if something happens to the car (knowing I will have to pay for all damages), but I am not sure if BMW checks periodically whether or not I have the proper insurance coverage.

Yes they check. They call your insurance company periodically and request the information. Sometimes they want it from the insurance company in writing and sometimes verbally. But the answer.... yes they will know so make sure you insure the vehicle to what was agreed upon @ the lease signing.

Yesterday night I left sunroof open on my BMW and it rained. I spent the whole day removing the water hoping it would dry out. Yesterday i was able to unlock/lock the car with the keyless keychain but i could not start it and thus could not close the sunroof. This morning I went back to the car in order to try and start it again and now the car will not unlock with the keyless keychain. I tried to manually unlock the door with the key in the drivers door. I was able to unlock it but now the alarm keeps going off. What do I need to do and I am hesitant to call BMW as they will charge me a fortune? Is this something that I can solve, another mechanic, or do I have to go to BMW?

For starters, make sure you close the sun roof before you leave your car. Sorry about that, I just could not help it.

I suggest that you cover the open sun roof with a plastic sheet and put an electric heater inside, at low heat, for at least 24 hours. This should dry it out.

Do not seal the plastic tight as it will trap and hold the moisture inside.

Disconnect battery to disable alarm, leave car doors open in the sun to dry inside if car is in secure location. Call BMW dealer and see if they have any ideas about fixing your car. Good luck.
You do not need to start the car to operate the windows/sunroof. As long as the key is in the "ON" position (where all the warning lights come on) is good enough.

You now have a serious problem because all your carpeting and upholstery may be soaking wet (depending how hard it rained). And you may have other associated electronic problems.

Don't take any chances with this kind of damage. Give yourself a good kick, and send it to the dealer.

If this damage is severe enough and isn't done right, your car may have similar damage as a "flood car", and you'll lose A LOT of money in resale.

Your alarm may be disarmed by putting the key in the ignition and turning it to the ON position.

They are nothing alike. The Mazda 3 engine is developed by ford it comes in several version starting from a 1.3 liters to a 2.3. I have a 2007 BMW 3 series and it comes standard with a 3.0 (In Europe it comes with a 2.0 but not in the US) liters engine, something that Mazda 3 does not even offer.

The Mazda 3 engine is a relatively old FORD engine design that has no real ties to BMW.

Its one of the 'new' Duratecs that have been available worldwide for years, but in the US they were originally called Zetecs. Due to the issues of the Zetec in the Focus (mostly from the manufacturing being done in Mexico) theyve changed the designation to Duratec worldwide now.

The closest link comes through Cosworth. They have worked with BMW in the past, and they are almost entirely responsible for the Duratec style engines.

Either you are getting ripped off on the Cadillac, or it is the CTS-V version. Reliability is iffy, build quality is not up to BMW specs and that motor (CTS-v) tends to rip up the transmission and driveline (bad axle hop).

The BMW probably still has some warranty on it, as well as total car care all the way thru 50k miles. It will not be as fast, but is built better and is a lot more refined. They also hold their value a lot better.

I would do the BMW, or perhaps even look at an Infiniti M35/M45 as a good compromise vehicle (may still be too expensive though). Maybe even hold out for an 05/06 BMW with some warranty and a bigger motor and more options.
I wouldnt buy that Cadillac. There are some quality issues on the 1st Gen CTS's. I would go with the BMW, it's nicer, better handling, and its a chick magnet. If you get a BMW you wont have to buy rims.

The Lincoln has 82 more horsepower and a 5-speed automatic transmission. I think it weighs about 700 lbs more, but not enough to offset its superior power. You might beat one on a winding road, but both cars are governed to 130 mph, and the Lincoln will get there faster from any speed you might be running.

I am 17, currently a senior in high school, and also taking an auto class at North Metro. I am also in the DEP for the USMC, I am scheduled to got to basic June 1st, 08(active duty). I don't know if I should do 20 yrs in the corps and retire, or get a job working for BMW after tech school. I know I would make a lot more money working for BMW cause the car industry is so short on workers(my teacher said he made 80grand his 3rd year as a certified mechanic), but at the same time I think I would like the lifestyle of the USMC a bit more. Think I could retire at the age of 38 from the corps, and then began a career working for BMW or for whatever other company I want to work for? Will the USMC pay for auto tech school? If so how long would it take me to complete school while on active duty? If I were to get a mos for aviation mechanics in the corps could I just retire and work for bmw with out any schooling? What are my odds of being severely wounded(arm or leg blown off) or killed if my MOS is aviation mechanics and I serve 20yrs/? and for 4 years? Any advice appreciated

First of all, I absolutely do not believe that a mechanic with three years experience is making 80k per year at a dealership. I come from a family of mechanics and a journeyman union mechanic probably makes between $40k - 50k a year. That's with somewhere around 12 - 18 years experience.

Give the Corps your four years and see if it looks like something you want to hang with. If you retire after 20 and you'll have good benefits for the rest of your life and you can make a career change if you like.

I'm not sure what the current college reimbursement program is for the military but it should pay for trade school as well as traditional college.

An aviation mech MOS will be safer than being a grunt. Mech's will generally be at an airfield or base rather than pushing the front lines.

U either have low air pressure [on one or more tires]OR the Caster got knocked out of it's setting [wheel alignment OR U have a RADIAL TIRE PULL - IF U switch the 2 front tires side to side %26 it pulls the other way - THEN U have a Radial tire pull !
when it goes to one side dont it mean the wheel bearings are going on one side, dont hold me to it but get it checked out anyway, I'm no mechanic either but when my car was having an MOT recently i borrowed my sisters car and this happened , and it turned out to be the wheel bearings on the right hand side , good news is that it doesn't cost that much to put right.

if your a mechanic you should know that your alignment sounds bad. If it drifts to the left while driving that's usually what it is. You can get that done for a fairly decent price at any auto shop

switch your front tires side to side and see if it pulls the other way. If it does, it's your tires. Also, make sure you have to proper air pressure. Check for sticking brakes also. A dragging brake on one side will cause a pull. Check your tie rods and ball joints for slop. Did you do a 4 wheel alignment on it? You may have a problem with the rear.

I recently bought a 2003 BMW 325ci. The car is lovely and drives like a dream, however my one complaint is the CD player (just a simple in-dash, single disc factory player) skips EVERY CD I've put into it, whether it be a real CD or a burned CD. I bought a cleaner kit, thinking it was dirty, but that hasn't done much to help. I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be horribly expensive to fix or if it is worth just buying a new one? I recently bought a 1989 535i and it had a 6 disc CD player in the trunk. An amp was located there too. Neither worked nor did the radio/tape player. When I was done I had a Sony CD player and radio that accepted my ipod. I get way more music on my ipod than I could ever get on a few Cd's, and it sounds great. The power from the Sony is more than the old amp and they put in some crossovers on the speakers.

It is not over the top, OK, it is not even near the top, but I like the ipod hook up.

Most GOOD aftermarket cd players are better than factory anyway. I would chhange. You can get a wireing harness that plugs right into your factory plug. You just wire it to your new radio and plug it in.You may need a installation kit to fill in some empty spaces.

You can tap into the rear speaker wires using a LOC (line output converter) to convert the speaker signal to RCA.

ok what the guy told you is right kind of your stereo has a anti theft system so if its disconnected you need the code to turn it back on otherwise it wont turn back on so what you need is to tap into the rear speaker wires using a LOC (line output converter) to convert the speaker signal to RCA. you dont even need to touch the stereo just connect the unit to the rear speakers, the amp is installe normal and the remote you connect it to the unit and your all set as for subs you can put 1 or 2 what ever you want subs arent made specifically for a certain car so good luck

The wiper motor is quite easy to get to. It is located under the cowl cover just to the left (drivers side) of center. To access open bonnet(hood) then remove wiper arms(mark them for proper installation) Next remove cowl cover and also the cowl housing will need to be loosened to remove wiper motor.

I would go with the independent shop if they are installing a new fuel pump rather than a remanufactured pump that isn't necessarily designed for your car. Ask the shop about the parts options and whether they can install a new pump. This assumes you are going to keep the car and want the problem fixed once and for all!
Call around to see what the part costs. Remember, the mechanic marks up a bit sometimes if he is charged a delivery charge.

Then call the dealership and ask how many billable hours go with the job and then plug in the hourly rate the mechanic charges. If after adding the part price and labor together (along with various environmental shop charges) you come close to what he quoted, then you should be OK.

If I had to choose, I would avoid both models. According to the consumer affairs database, both 2008 models suffer from faulty electrical components. I think the Mercedes offers better utility but I am not impressed with the look. The BMW looks much better but don't expect to see more than 14.6 miles to a gallon- thats the average reported by owners with the 4.8 litre.

I would highly recommend the Cadillac Escalade or Lexus LX570. Both are superior in quality and long term reliability, with Lexus placing 1st, Cadillac 2nd, BMW a distant 16th and Mercedes 18th out of 44 manufactures in a long term reliability study.

I personally drive a 2007 Escalade ESV and love it. Its classy, very roomy, can tow my 8000 lb boat without breaking a sweat and is not that bad on gas considering it weighs 6000lbs and has 407 HP and runs 0-60 ini 6.1 seconds. Also, Car and Driver was very impressed with their long term model which according to them, had the lowest operating cost of any manufacturer they ever tested.

A five series is very different than the X-type. Both are large vehicles but the BMW is a luxury vehicle first in the five series and a sport sedan second. While the X-type is a Sport sedan and luxury together. They are both similar in cost of maintenance very high, but if you are considering them you have the money anyways. IF you want the same enjoyment of a BMW as you would from a Jaguar get the Seven series, a bit more money but you will get a larger vehicle as well. For the money apples to apples there is none here but The Jaguar is superior. Looks the BMW has but is it worth the money for what you are getting? that is a question you have to ask your self
The BMW!!!! THe Jaguar is a very poorly designed and built car, also remember it is built by ford. It is known to have multiple mechanical problems, even at early mileage. The BMW is the exact opposite, known to last for a very long time with minimal problems. Also I believe the engine in the 5 series is the 6cylinder twin turbo that is also in the 335i, which is one of the best engines ever built!!

Both are top brands with a very high degree of customer loyalty. Personally, I would go for the BMW 525i, which I have known is not as temperamental as the Jaguars. Further, the BMW has an excellent service network. In our part of the world the BMWs hold a higher resale value as compared to the other brand.

I'm guessing it's going to need some money spent on conversion. I doubt anything like that can go into the tank, and it will just work.
I'm clear on whether or not this will screw up a diesel engine but I do know that you can use pure vegetable oil as fuel without converting anything.
Yes you car run SVO strait vegetable oil, on your car. You WILL have to make a secondary fuel system thoug. When you start the car it will have to start on diesel, then you can run the SVO, It works best if you heat it. then you will have to run diesel for a few minutes before you shut the engine down. if you don't run it like this the svo will gum up your injectors,pump,filter,lines etc... Its Much easier/safer to just make the bio-diesel. its fairly easy to.

I have 2001 325xi, not even sure if it was an option back than. It is now, and the cost from the dealer was about $425. You can get a great HID Kit for less than $200 now. Search around for a good quality kit, stay away from ebay.

I have upgraded both my lows and my fog lights, the difference is night and day.

Doing it after market means you can get different light temperatures as well. I personally like the 6000k (pure white) color. The factory ships out a 7500-8000k which has more blue in it.

You can get them everywhere for about $400-500. They certainly are brighter so if it's your goal - you should upgrade. I personally am about to put a more native alternative on my 4Runner - see link below. They are not only much cheaper but consume less energy, will not burn electrical system (and bmw is more than sensitive in that area, and any damage caused by alterations will not be covered by warranty, and will cost you dearly).

Early 1998 M Roadsters had VIN's starting with "4", late 1998's thorough 2000 had VIN's starting with "W". 2001 and 2002 models had VIN's starting with "5". I noticed that MB and BMW seem to have the most repairs of all. But then again there were only 6-7 negative reviews out of 200. So I am curious what you guys have to say. Stay away from German cars, they have maintenance issues that are very expensive to repair and maintain, like $1500 for timing belt service, $400 sensors, etc. Japanese cars seem to have better maintenance records and, depending on brand, have lower maintenance costs. My daughter had an Acura that she liked really well. Leather seats, style, etc. Now, she's a rider, not a driver after totalling it and getting the DUI. :-(

Me, I'm a Chevy man. I just bought my mother a 2006 Chevy Cobalt. Nice little car, reliable, nice interior/exterior lines, not very expensive, unless you do all the upgrades and even then, it wouldn't cost as much as a Toyota Camry. Plus, there's a Chevy dealership on practically every corner, so parts and service aren't an issue. I like driving it and I own a Z06 Corvette and a Silverado LS 4x4 and I'm picky. So, if you need to impress someone, go with an Acura or Lexus. If you want a decent car that you won't be in debt forever over, buy something like a Cobalt.

2003 350z's had some issues that, while not a detriment to the car running, did cause some major headaches.

The first issue was known as tire feathering. It was a result of a improperly designed front suspension that caused the tires to wear faster than normal. The fix was either upgrading to a aftermarket suspension or changing to a different brand of tires (the stock RE040 are very soft). I believe Nissan released a TSB (technical service bulletin) on this issue and there is a fix for it through Nissan.

Another known issue was with grease streaks on the windows. I forget the cause, but there is also a TSB on this issue as well.

Lastly, 2003's seemed to suffer from some intermittent issues with the transmission failing early. My friend had a 2002-built 350z (she was one of the first to own it when it came out) and her tranny needed to be replaced at 60k. However, there are some who have gone upwards of 80-90k without issues. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for the random failing.

If you could, spring for a newer model Z. Aim for a 2004.5 or higher (a 2004.5 is one that was produced in the latter half of the year. There was a completely revised front suspension). These newer Z's fixed a lot of the issues with the early Z's and are a much better buy. I would also stay away from the 2006 and 2006 300hp models, as those motors have issues with burning oil and there is also a TSB out for that as well (I have a 2005 350z with this particular motor and I am having the problem).
