Does anyone own an 8 series BMW? How is it?

In a nutshell, tell me everything you love/dislike about it. On average, how much do you pay a month for maintenance/repairs? How's the gas mileage? I hear these things are maintenance nightmares but is that an exaggeration?

I'm turning 17 soon, meaning I will get my first car. I realize I'm a spoiled brat, and I'm fortunate to be able to get a car worth around $15-20k, but I will have to pay for maintenance/repairs, gas, and insurance.

Given that I have a job, it wouldn't be much of a problem.

I was looking towards an 850i or ci for around $15-20k. My question is if there's any decent ones out there?

I love these cars because of their unique styling, rarity, BMW prestige, and luxury. Are these cars safe too? In terms of physics, this car is pretty heavy right? Like 6,000 pounds, making it heavier than most cars on the road, and therefore being able to withstand collisions.

I also believe the driver is in control, not the car, so the hp given shouldn't intimidate me, right?

For a first car, an 8 series is a bit powerful and it will be very hard to find them for sale.

Yes, they are old and they will most likely have a lot of mileage (probably around 100,000), but they are still rare, making them expensive cars.

IF you do happen to find an 8 series for sale, my guess is that they will be more than $20,000.
