BMW has 3 main spots.....back seat, trunk, or against firewall under a plastic shell cover, normally on passenger side.

Its in the trunk. Probably on the right side, but I've never been in the trunk of a 1993 3 series.
I believe it's under the rear seat or in the trunk..
Under the rear seat or in the right rear trunk well.
mine is in the trunk on the side, check yours
