Should i go for a used bmw under 20000 or a new honda accord coupe?

hi im confused as to whether i should go for a new honda accord coupe or a used bmw less than 20000? i will be changing the car after 3-4 years. what would you suggest?

I would go with the BMW, because it is more reliable than Honda, and it is a better car all around. Also even though it is older, it would have a better resale value than a Honda, think about it, how many hondas have you seen for $20,000 that are as old as the BMW, none because they dont hold their value as well. With repair costs, yes a BMW is more expensive to maintain, but with it being German engineering, there shouldnt be major repairs because German cars are built soo much better.

A BMW under $20k will likely be a 4 year old car. As with many other cars, you will need to have major scheduled services as well as worn parts changed out. Without warranty, most BMW dealer labor rates are at $95 - $110 per hour. So your cost of owning a BMW isn't really $20k.

With a new Honda, everything's new, and with Honda being a reliable Japanese make, you will likely not need any kind of repairs (other than scheduled services) for at least the first 3-4 years.
