Can you program a 1999 bmw 323is stock alarm remote by yourself?

so I kinda of need an answer as quickly as possibe....

So my deal is that I bought a 1999 BMW 323is and it came with a stock alarm/keyless entry...but the dealer had the remote stolen. So he agreed to buy a new remote....I was wondering if there was ANYWAY POSSIBLE to program it myself?

(or do i have to pay an hour labor for them to enter a code.)

This is what I found :

Use remote key to unlock car.

Get in car and close door.

Switch ignition on and then off.

Press and hold unlock button.

Keep pressing unlock button and press lock button briefly three times within 10 seconds.

Release unlock button.

Either the LED light on the key will flash slowly for ten seconds or the car will lock and unlock quickly to show that programming has worked.

Good luck.

If it doesn't work then you will have to ask the dealer.
