Hello i need some help here.. i'm driving 130 miles a day to work and back and I just got my used 2004 BMW 525i. anyway, i just would like to ask, will it 'DESTROY' or cause problems with my engine if I use 87 octane rating from safeway on this car?
coz if not... then i'm really dead... :(

Not true, J. Modern vehicles adjust to variations in fuel by using sensors such as the knock sensor. Although manufacturers recommend 91 octane, they are designed to be able to run on 87. Yes, you can use 87 octane in your car. There is no proof that 87 octane will cause additional wear, decrease performnce nor cause additional deposits in your engine.

Octane is resistance to detitnation most luxery and high preformnce cars have high engine compression. Your bmw takes premium it will only cause wear from detitnation if use 87.
